WH: What is it that bother you about this

HAH: OH THIS IS WHY : 1. Because he is trying to defame a brand by using homeless people who are the "anti-client", thus still seeing homeless people as low in value 2. This is what white people did during the harlem renaissance which was called "block busting" used black people to bring down the real estate values. 3. Why doesn't he address homelessness as a whole, because homelessness is fucked up and not in response to some deep seeded issues with jocks from high school.. 4. 1+2+3 = douchebaggery

DB: I dont think the guy devalues homeless people because they are the anticlient, but that is what the CEO basically said, so by giving the homeless people clothing of the very brand the CEO doesnt want to target is basically a big fuck you to his face.

HAH: fuck him and this stupid fucking campaign

WH: Also if instead of these big companies burn clothes they sound just donate it to people who really need it

HAH: he still used homeless people as a tool with out even having a conversation with them. Just throwing A+F clothing at them..... its degrading.

WH: That short video didn't really tell us about his actual interaction with the people...we don't know the guys story..he might be one of those people who help out homeless people...he is doing a campaign as a reaction to the tool CEO keep that in mind

HAH: ust because the CEO is a douchebag doesn't mean i can not be critical of this filmmakers approach to the issue of homelessness. "he might be one of those people who help out homeless people" THATS A HUGE ASSUMPTION. If you want to clothe the homeless ... clothe the homeless. People donate to shelters and goodwills all the time everyday. This isnt about homeless people or clothing homeless people or even addressing it, this is about someones simple and thoughtless reaction to a CEO ......

L: It's never good enough to just "do something" these days.

HAH: what does that mean?

L: I feel like sometimes we criticize people for not doing enough even if people try to do a little something. While I agree that it is a reaction cause - isn't it better that he reacted than do nothing at all?

HAH: I am in NO WAY discouraging people from "doing something". However, this "activist" has to be open to being checked. People check me. I have to learn and grow from it. If we can't check each other in a direct and loving manner then what's the point? People are just liberally float around in a daze thinking that everything they do is hunky dory just because they did something that made them feel juiced about themselves and walk away. So while I can see the passion to inform people of the fucked up CEO of A+F is there......the ignorance in using homeless bodies as tools/means is unacceptable, short sighted of a major issue and has been done over and over again to poor people for many years. If the film maker in fact did not intentionally mean to devalue A+F by using homeless bodies, if A+F is really messed up corporation then why have poor people walking around as billboards? From the homeless side of things i can not see this as helpful to the homeless population/ community. In fact i think the sentiments of the video is harmful in many ways, (as stated above) if it wasn't i would have kept my mouth shut. "together we can make a+f the #1 brand of homeless apparel", its sicken and saddens me to hear this.
